In normal backup use where the system is not deep-cycled daily, the practical service life is many years. Keep the pack within its stated charge and temperature limits and the BMS protection active; the actual life depends on the manufacturer's cycle rating, depth of discharge and operating environment.

What should I include in my requirement for an accurate battery quote?

Include a simple load list: each device or group with its running watts and starting (surge) watts, the backup hours required, the system voltage if already fixed, the site environment (indoor, semi-outdoor, high temperature), whether a charge source or inverter is in scope, and which documents you need (datasheet, certificates, wiring diagram, warranty, Manufacturer's Authorization Letter).
